We loaded every open federal contract opportunity currently reserved under the WOSB Program. Here is what the data looks like rather than what the marketing says.
- 825 set-aside notices in the feed, of which 219 still had an open response deadline at the time of writing.
- 772 were WOSB set-asides and 53 were EDWOSB.
- Every one of the 300 we checked landed on a NAICS code that appears on SBA's designated list. The list genuinely governs where these appear.
The part nobody puts in a brochure
A large share of open WOSB set-asides at any given moment are Defense Logistics Agency supply contracts. Generators, valves, filter elements, pump assemblies. If you were picturing consulting engagements, adjust the picture.
That is not a reason to walk away. It is a reason to be honest about which industries the federal government actually buys from, and to check whether yours is one of them before you spend three months on paperwork.
What the churn means for you
Deadlines turn over constantly. Roughly a quarter of what we loaded was still open. A search that returns nothing today is not a permanent answer, it is a snapshot, which is why this is worth checking weekly rather than reading once and concluding there is nothing there.
